FFXIV News - Dev Blog: The Finer Miner Goes Out on a Limb
New FFXIV information is available on the dev blog from today. You can read the news in the quote below.

Greetings, everyone!

Come one, come all, step right up, it’s Gold Saucer time! While Lord of Verminion takes center stage as the biggest new attraction coming in Patch 3.1, new mini-games will also be added to fill your pockets with Manderville Gold Saucer points!

Adventurers familiar with gathering from FFXIV version 1.0 should recognize both of these new games: “Out on a Limb” and “The Finer Miner,” as they are both fashioned after the gathering process from that time.

Both of these mini-games are played in nearly the same way, but let’s take a quick look at Out on a Limb!

No reward comes without a little risk, and it will cost 1 MGP to get started.

Once you pay this small fee, you can select your difficulty, which scales from cactuar to morbol…to Titan!
Naturally, the harder you go the more lucrative the reward.

After selecting your difficulty, you’re good to go!

The cursor will move up and down, and by pressing the button it will stop. There are points on the line in which the cursor moves, and while you can’t see them, stopping the cursor close to them will drain the gauge on the bottom.

Completely emptying the gauge will finish your gathering attempt and earn you MGP.

Messages will also be displayed to indicate how you’re doing when you stop the cursor.

Use these messages to lead you towards a thicker wallet full of MGP.
Jackpot, baby!

You’ll also be able to double-up up to five times within the time limitations, so you’ll have to decide how you want to proceed. It’s only 1 MGP to play, so you don’t need to think too hard and long – just enjoy yourself!

Patch 3.1 is only a couple days away, so be sure to go out on a limb and give these games a try!
