FFXIV News - Dev Blog: The Airspeed Velocity of an Unladen Swallow's Compass

From the Dev Blog.

Happy Patch Day, Warriors of Light!

I'm sure that, like me, you're all itching to log on and experience all the new content that Patch 4.3--Under the Moonlight has to offer. But if you're also like me and stuck at work or otherwise occupied today, allow me to offer you a glimpse into the new dungeon to whet your appetite.

Let's take on The Swallow's Compass!

The entrance to the dungeon is located in the west of Yanxia, at the base of a large stone statue of the great general Ganen. Hmmm... I wonder what brings us here?

Come along, let's join the project managers as they dive into the fray.

It looks like at the very start, we're met with some kind of barrier.

There are monsters here protecting this area from foreign enemies, no mercy for the Warriors of Light!

...Jahannam? Is that you?? (No, but the Geomantic Anila in here look awfully familiar to a certain NM in Eureka! Curious.)

Also, we would like to establish the fact that this mob is indeed cute. Just look at that fluffy... green... face... It's staring into my soul with all three of those eyes... (Those are eyes, right? The pink things? Eyes. Cute!)

Check out the first boss! Very Tengu-esque, no?

These inner halls have a very mysterious and dangerous atmosphere. What secrets lie beyond these walls, I wonder?

In an ultimate change of scenery from the dreary interior, we enter a sprawling space overlooking the magnificent mountains of Yanxia. Beautiful!

The Swallow's Compass is out now, so be sure to pick up your quest in The Ruby Sea and go forth, to explore and adventure! We are Warriors of Light, after all. That's what we do.

And sometimes we travel on clouds.

Where will they take us? You'll have to find out...

We hope you're all enjoying Patch 4.3 so far! I can't wait to dive in.

Until next time!
