Distant Worlds have announced via their Facebook fan page that the Distant Worlds concert in Chicago in December will feature music from Final Fantasy XIV. If you’re unsure of what Distant Worlds is then it is basically an orchestral concert featuring music from the Final Fantasy series. If you wish to attend the concert on December 12th it may be worth checking if there are still tickets available at Ticketmaster.
The official website for Final Fantasy XIV has been given another updated today for European and North American gamers, however the North American site seems to have more information.
New information about monsters and even some items they drop can be found in the bestiary, while information about the Lancer and Archer classes can be found under the Disciples of War section.
It appears that Final Fantasy XIV crafting materials will be obtained in the same way as Final Fantasy XI; via monster drops. This is good as it will give players who don’t craft an easy way to make money.
The Lancer class will be similar to Final Fantasy XI’s Dragoon class and use a polearm as a weapon. The website suggests that they will have a greater range than other Disciples of War classes and can attack opponents from relative safety.
The Archer class will be similar to Final Fantasy XI’s Ranger class and use a bow for their attacks. However, Rangers in Final Fantasy XI could use guns and with the class being called Archer in Final Fantasy XIV that suggests guns will be reserved for a different class. When an Archer runs out of arrows they will use a rock as a weapon.
