FFXIV Info - Fan Site and Database

Final Fantasy XIII was released today in areas outside of Japan and it came with a Final Fantasy XIV promotional code. The code allows you to register your copy of Final Fantasy XIII and gives access to two Final Fantasy XIV related things.

The first is a secret in-game item for Final Fantasy XIV, but no one knows what this will be. The second is a chance at gaining entry into the PS3 beta for the game. One thing to note however is that if you sign up for the PS3 beta via this code, your previous beta application will become invalid.

Square Enix have announced at Vanafest 2010 that the Final Fantasy XIV beta website will launch on March 11th 2010, just two days after the international release of Final Fantasy XIII. The beta date will be announced at this time, but it is expected to be around the 11th.

Invites to the first round of the beta will be sent out via e-mail to lucky candidates from tomorrow! It has also been announced that loyal Final Fantasy XI players will be able to access a closed alpha phase, presumably those who attended Vanfest.

Vanafest is a yearly event held in Japan to celebrate the progress of Final Fantasy XI. This year, Square Enix decided to include Final Fantasy XIV in the lineup. The news of the beta start date is the only FFXIV information to come out of the event so far.
