A new post full of FFXIV information has now been released by Square Enix. The information from the Lodestone is quoted below.

Heroes of Eorzea─your time has come! Phase 1 of the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Beta Test is scheduled to begin on February 25. Beta tester acceptance e-mails are already on their way, so keep an eye out for your summons.

We are still recruiting beta testers. If you are interested and have yet to apply, be sure to visit the beta test application site.

Adventurers are hard at work using a variety of mediums to create renditions of their majestic steeds! If you have yet to begin your homage to the mighty chocobo, have no fear as there is still plenty of time to get the creative juices flowing and submit an entry. The contest ends February 24, 2013 at 7:00pm (PST), so be sure to submit your entry by the deadline!
