Brayflox’s Longstop Hard Mode is an end-game dungeon added during patch 2.2. It requires an item level of 55 or above to enter and rewards players with ilevel 70 equipment that was formerly rewarded in exchange for Tomestones of Philosophy. This gear is called Darklight. The dungeon is found within the Eastern La Noscea and is accessible upon completion of Brayflox’s Longstop normal mode and the quest “The Ultimate Weapon”. You can then take on the quest “Curds and Slay”, which is given by Bloezoeng in Mor Dhona (X:22, Y:8).
Boss Guide
Brayflox’s Longstop Hard Mode contains three bosses, called Illuminati Commander, Magitek vangob G-III and Gobmachine G-VI. Below is a guide for each of them.
Illuminati Commander
The Illuminati Commander is a goblin that will spawn goblin sniper adds throughout the battle. These have low HP and should be killed quickly.
There will be a lot of line AoEs to dodge during this fight. The goblin will target a random player every now and then and this will spawn a + shaped line bomb from their location. Towards the end of the fight it will target multiple players so there will be a lot of locations getting hit by bomb AoE.
The fight is fairly simple and it will take four or five hits from the bombs to kill a player so there is a lot of leniency for dodging.
Magitek vangob G-III
The main mechanic in this fight is the blue cereuleum circles that appear on the ground. These will add up over time so it is important for players to stand towards the edges of the arena to avoid covering too much ground and making the tank have to move the boss too often.
After a while the boss will set off a bomb that will cause all of the pools of cereuleum to explode and disappear, and if you happen to be inside then you will take a large amount of damage. The pools will also deal damage while in them so it is important for targeted players to move out the way.
The boss will spawn a couple of goblin adds throughout the fight that have low HP and they should be killed as the boss will do an attack that deals damage based on the HP of the adds if they are still alive after a certain amount of time.
Gobmachine G-VI
The Gobmachine has a few mechanics that it will use one after the other at around 75%, 50% and 25% of the boss’s HP and it is important to understand how they work to avoid a wipe.
The first mechanic is the driving mode. The machine will run circles around the edges of the arena. To avoid getting hit by it simply stand in the middle area.
After this he will spawn two Illuminati adds. Nothing complex here, just kill them quickly.
The third mechanic is the most dangerous. The entire arena will be covered in bombs that deal high damage when they explode. You need to create a safe space to dodge them by attacking the bombs. Attacking a bomb will cause it to bounce towards the edge of the arena. AoE attacks work nicely here.
Other than that just DPS down the boss. Eventually, a large bomb will appear and this is a DPS check. It must be killed before it explodes or the party will wipe. The machine will also start driving across the arena during this bit so be on the lookout.
