A new FFXIV: ARR post has appeared on the dev blog. The new information is quoted below.

Greetings, everyone.
Bayohne here to conduct a musically-focused blog for you all.

Last month, Sound Director Masayoshi Soken told me that they would be holding orchestral recordings for Heavensward songs, so naturally I wanted to check it out. Unfortunately, they said something about "budgets" and sent Project Manager M in my stead...

Soken looks serious as usual.

So very serious.

They separated the recordings and performances by type of instrument, but Project Manager M told me that watching the pros perform sure is a spectacle! (Jealousy rising...)

I can't wait to hear the final product!

Speaking of orchestras, the Distant Worlds: Music from FINAL FANTASY THE JOURNEY OF 100 concert was held on January 22, and they invited the FFXIV team. My invite must have been lost in the moogle delivery system.

This was the first time they performed "Torn from the Heavens" live, and Soken greeted everyone at the show.

After the concert they also met with Uematsu!

Orchestras sure are amazing and I'm really happy I was able to hear it live. (Is what I wish I could say!)

Perhaps one of these days we can hold a concert for FFXIV...
