FFXIV News - Dev Blog: Warriors of Light Got Seoul
Today sees another dev blog update for Final Fantasy XIV. We have quoted the new info below.

Greetings, adventurers!

I’m very excited to share some news with you about the recent Fan Festival held in South Korea! While the Korean version of FFXIV launched back in August 2015 this was our very first Fan Festival in Korea! The event took place on October 21 and was attended by around 3,000 Warriors of Light.

Everyone was so enthusiastic and hyped up, which made it feel like the show was a huge success! Let’s take a look at some of the exciting things attendees experienced.

Here we can see Yoshi-P watching (comfortably) over the rehearsals the day before the event.

Here Banri Oda and Koji Fox offer some free throw tips to Yoshi-P.

Yoshi-P getting serious now…

Yoshi-P could always be found shooting baskets whenever he found himself with free time during rehearsals (I think it became a problem at some point…)!

Let’s move on to the day of the event!

The show kicked off with the Korean version of the Stormblood trailer. Shortly after, Yoshi-P and members of the Korean operations team made their appearance on stage.

They announced the release date for Patch 4.0 (December 19th!) and went over some exciting new features that will be available.

Aside from Yoshi-P, some other members of the development team attended the show as well! Of course Soken was there, and they were joined by main scenario writer Banri Oda and Koji Fox!

Here we can see Oda and Koji going over some hardcore lore related to Heavensward. The audience loved the details surrounding the language spoken by the dragons, Dragonspeak.

At the same time, the streaming booth featured Soken as a special guest! Everyone adored his antics and funny comments and the stories he had to share.

Here we can see the cosplay contest participants. Everyone’s outfits were very high-quality and it makes me happy to see such creativity! The cosplay contest winner was someone dressed as Edda (The Tam-Tara version)! She carried Avere’s head along with her, and also brought an invitation to their Eternal Bond ceremony written in Eorzean! Yoshi-P was very impressed to see how this cosplayer incorporated lore into their overall look.

Next up, the Feast tournament hit the stage with full… adrenaline! (See what I did there?)
The final match was tense and definitely hyped up the crowd!

And finally, the stage was set for The Primals to end things with a bang!

Their music mixed with the roaring cheers from the audience and echoed throughout the venue. All the Warriors of Light partied hard with their glow sticks lighting up the room.

Even before the encore, everyone was already shouting RISE! RISE! It was quite the experience and the band looked happy to oblige.

We would like to thank all the Warriors of Light in Korea who attended the event! And thanks to the operation teams for your hard work! We’re planning to release a video footage of the event soon, so please look forward to it!

The team is already looking forward to the next Fan Festival in Korea! Thank you Seoul~!!
