FFXIV News - Dev Blog: A Properly Seasoned Feast
Square Enix updated the dev blog today with more FFXIV: Heavensward news. Read on for the info, taken from the dev blog.

Season’s greetings, adventurers!

I can already hear you all saying, “But Camate, it’s not the holidays!” Perhaps–however, with Patch 3.26, which was released today, Season One of The Feast has begun!

Many have spent the pre-season getting a feel for the battlefield, honing their tactics, and finding comrades they can trust in battle to prepare for the race to the top of the ranks in the official season. Well, the time has finally come to put your training to the test!

Even if you’re a young pup who didn’t pay the blood, sweat, and tears in the pit during the pre-season, never fear! There’s no better time than now to take the plunge and join the fun!

With that said, though, those who wish to get deep into the competition and claw their way to the top of the pack will be handsomely rewarded. The number one ranking player on each data center will be rewarded with a special trophy furnishing item.

The one on the left is the trophy you can earn for playing solo, while the one on the right is for pre-made light parties. Only those who are number one will be able to obtain these, so they are extremely rare.

Next up is the equipment that can be earned by reaching the top ranks.

I figured that everyone would want to see how these rewards look on their characters, so we orchestrated screenshots with all of the races. The equipment with the blue colored base is for solo, and the equipment with the red base is for pre-made light parties. Even though the base color is different, both of these equipment sets can be dyed!

These rewards are a great stimulus to blast through the competition and dominate the leaderboards, and it’s apparent now that I need to spend some time in a gravity chamber or a hyperbolic time chamber so I can one day, perhaps, obtain this great equipment.

Now that Season One has begun, you can expect to see the Community Team on the battlefield again in another “Culling Time,” so keep an eye out (and go easy on us…)!

See you all in the pit!
Strength and honor!

-Camate
