FFXIV News - Dev Blog: A Date with FATE in Tokyo
Today, Square Enix posted a new FFXIV: Heavensward article on the dev blog. Read below for all the information, taken from the Lodestone.

Greetings, everyone!

Though we are fresh into May and heading light speed towards June (and the event that takes place during that time *wink*), I wanted to recap all the excitement that took place during Niconico Chokaigi 2016 while it’s still relatively fresh!

Fans gathered by the masses on April 28 and 29 to participate in all of the fun activities, and they were able to interact with all of the team members. The excitement was definitely through the roof, especially when groups won challenges such as the Primal Roulette.

If you’ve ever tuned into the Japanese Community Team’s Adrenaline Rush TV, perhaps you’ve seen these faces before. Being PvP specialists, they headed up the Feast challenge area.

Besides in-game challenges, there were a lot of other fun activities on tap for attendees to take part in.

Meteor logo & Spriggan printing on denim:

Cactuar catching:

The Allagan Control Panel (Attendees had to pair up and tackle Stone, Sky, Sea by using a huge gamepad that controlled the cross hotbar!):

Theatrhythm FINAL FANTASY:

Naturally, when there are goods on sale, the merchandise line does not rest!

Customary for all of the FATEs held in Japan, fans were able to sign a message board which was placed with many of the others in the development team’s area at Square Enix.

As mentioned previously, there was also a Letter from the Producer LIVE that took place, and it had quite the surprising announcement! (Details can be found here. Please note, however, that the site is in Japanese only.)

While we showed off some of the winners of the cosplay contest that was held during DUTY COMMENCED Episode 12, there were a ton of others that donned amazing costumes, but did not enter the contest.

Finally, here is a nice commemorative photo of everyone together!

The year is filled with more events, and we hope you are all looking forward to them!

-Camate
