Entry Period
April 13, 2012 (Friday) – April 23, 2012 (Monday) 1:00 PDT/8:00 GMT

Entry Method
Predict how long it will take for players to defeat the primal Garuda after her release in patch 1.22. Please post your guesstimates in both hours and minutes.
48 hours 32 minutes

  • Similar to the Ifrit battle, the Garuda battle will have both a low-level version and a high-level version. The predictions for this contest relate only to the high-level battle.
  • The time prediction is for how much time will pass before the first group of adventurers defeat the primal Garuda (hard mode) after patch 1.22 is released.
  • The actual time will be rounded down to the nearest minute. For example, in the event that the time is 48 hours 32 minutes 58 seconds, the correct answer would be 48 hours 32 minutes.

  • Results
Winners will be announced on the official forums after the development team has confirmed Garuda's defeat.

    Exact prediction (to the minute)
  • Your choice of one Garuda weapon
  • Scarf of Wondrous Wit
  • Five Vortex Headdresses* (item name pending)
  • Closest predictions (the 20 closest guesses to the actual clear time)
  • Scarf of Wondrous Wit
  • Five Vortex Headdresses* (item name pending)
  • * The Vortex Headdress is an item that is collected and exchanged for Garuda weapons, similar to Inferno Totems and Kupo Nut Charms.
    * In the event that multiple users post the same times, priority will be given to the first poster.
    * The 20 winners will be selected from the global list of entries and not for each region.

    Please Note
  • One entry per player. If multiple entries are posted, only the first post will be valid.
  • Posts cannot be edited while the event is ongoing.
  • The prizes for this event are all in-game items and have no monetary value.

  • Hint (→)
You might assume we wouldn't offer any hints on this one, but we managed to get a hint from the lead developer of primal battles himself!

"Hmm... this is tough since we're still making our final balance adjustments... but I can tell you Garuda is going to be quite a bit stronger than Ifrit and Good King Moggle Mog XII!"
As we were leaving, he mentioned one more thing...

"The quests leading up to the primal battle will be shorter than the previous ones."
And with that, let the predictions begin!

Two of my friends are pyaling on $500 AMD Llano laptops without any problems and yes they're both very aware of how much faster and how much prettier the game can be on a better computer. The only caveat is you have to overclock the processor because they're clocked VERY conservatively. I pushed one to 2.4GHz from 1.5GHz and it's been 100% stable at full load for 24h.Sorry for late reply, I'm listening randomly @ school during breaks >_>
