FFXIV News - Dev Blog: How Much Do You Bench?

Today, Square Enix posted a new FFXIV: ARR article on the dev blog. Read below for all the information, taken from the Lodestone.

Greetings, everyone!
Bayohne here to talk about the recently released Heavensward benchmark software!

Take a look at the trailer that showcases the benchmark's in-game content if you haven't yet!

Judging by my Twitter timeline, lots of people have been taking advantage of the new software, putting their PCs through their paces! Not only can you test your PC, but you can use the character creation to create Au Ra and try the new hairstyles we showed off here recently!

The folks at NVIDIA GeForce recently took a very in-depth look at the Heavensward benchmark software as well. They discussed the technology in play, including NVIDIA's HBOA+, and took hi-res comparison screenshots of the DirectX 9 and DirectX 11 versions. Be sure to check out their blog post! (I wish my PC was as good as their rig...)

I tried out the benchmark on one of the Community gaming PCs to see how well it fared with all the settings at maximum and it turned out pretty good! (Time to go even bigger and request that same NVIDIA gaming PC I think!)

Download the Heavensward benchmark software here.

By the way, we just launched our "My FFXIV Au Ra" Twitter campaign that takes advantage of the benchmark! Use the character creation feature of the benchmark to create an Au Ra and tweet it to us with the required info for a chance to win a scarf of wondrous wit!

Read up on the My Au Ra campaign on the Lodestone!
