Gameplay
Final Fantasy XIV is an MMORPG, similar to Final Fantasy XI. Very little is known so far about the gameplay, but it has been confirmed that the game will not feature a levelling system in the way Final Fantasy XI did. There will be no experience points and no traditional levels. The weapon you have equipped will influence character growth.

Gameplay

The game is designed so that if you don't have a lot of time to play you will be able to make some kind of progress. This is good news to people who felt you would not make any progress in Final Fantasy XI unless you could devote multiple hours to it per day. One other thing that has been confirmed is that weather will have an effect on gameplay.
